GOPALGANJ literally means the cow kippers lived in the forest in
one time known as " Saranya " on the bank of Gandak . In spite of
all these adversities , the people of this area are very enterprising by
the grace of " Durga Bhawani" of hawe . Maa Durga came here from
Kammakhya (Assam) Via Kolkatta (Kalighat) , Patna (Patan Devi) and Ami (
Ambika Bhawani ) on the call of " Rahsu Bhagat" - a true disciple of Maa
Durga living in the kingdom of Bhanashen , the king Thawe. And , since
then ,the goddess Durga is worshipped in Thawe, where Jawahar Navodaya
Vidyalaya has been established in the Year 1994 , just 01 KM away from
the Maa Durga temple depicted the splendid panorama of pious and glory
of the Gopalganj District.
Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya was temporarily established on temporary land
in the campus of Teacher Training School by the then District Authority.
It is situated about 80 mts. away from the Thawe National Highway. |
